Chromebooks are a lot cheaper than Windows laptops and MacBooks. Hence you’ll need to use Google’s cloud-based office suite, which is an excellent alternative to Microsoft Office. However, bear in mind that there’s no Microsoft Office suite on Chromebooks. Similarly, if your day involves juggling between Excel sheets or other documents, a Chromebook is again a great choice.

Our clients with a Mac, use Apple's Boot Camp or Parallels or VMware Fusion to use the Windows edition of Excel.Įspecially because of the things that they otherwise have to do manually in Excel and which would take them many hours of extra work. We do our best and have scheduled to have a Mac edition of ASAP Utilities available at some point, but it takes much time (and frustration) to make it compatible and there are still many features in the Windows edition of Excel that are not yet available (and probably never will be) or are different in the Mac edition of Excel. Fortunately in Mac Excel 2011 Microsoft has brought it back, but still very limited compared to the Windows edition of VBA in Excel. In version 2008 it was completely removed by Microsoft which caused all normal Excel macros not to work. The future of VBA (the programming language most macros and ASAP Utilities uses) was for a long time uncertain for MS Excel for the Mac ( /forum/.).
